We have seen it over and over again the past two years. Democrats reach out to Republicans who in a drawn out and cruel fashion proceed to punch us in the face. We include republican ideas in our bills and still they vote no. They demonize us calling out names like Socialist, Unamerican, and Tree-huggers. We for the most part do not call them names back. What some see as weakness I see as patriotism. For the past two years they have tried to put country above party. To see a weak stimulus bill passed, rather then risk a strong bill failing. You can say you disapprove of the party's and President Obama's strategy but I think the past two years have shown their patriotism in putting country first and party second and we should do all that we can to honor that in November.
In light of MOT's diary yesterday I'll also throw in a little election tidbit. In my district NJ-07 Democrat Ed Potosnak is challenging the freshman Republican Rep Leonard Lance. Ed is a high school science teacher and he worked for a couple years crafting education policy in Washington. He is also one of the only gay people running for Congress. I worked on his campaign over the Summer and had a great time. CNN listed this race in its top 100 Congressional races to watch and it should be competitive. Here is is website if you want to learn more.

Full disclosure I did work on his campaign over the Summer like I said above but I'm just writing this diary personally and this diary is in no way attributed to the campaign
