"We ask why there is violence in our schools, but we have systematically removed God from our schools," Huckabee said on Fox News, discussing the murder spree that took the lives of 20 children and 6 adults in Newtown, CT that morning. "Should we be so surprised that schools would become a place of carnage?"
So let's see if I understand this. Huckabee believes that God is so weak that "we" can "remove" Him. (I'll just gloss over that disingenuous "we" since Huckabee clearly doesn't really include himself in the class of God-removers.)
And if the children in these God-removed schools fail to pray enough - even if it's because of the sinister secular "we" - then God will send an assassin to shoot them. The same God who can't get into school without a locksmith has gunmen at his beck and call.
Did I miss the point?
