When the White House unveiled President Obama's budget this week, I was to see that he proposed switching to a chained CPI formula for calculating inflation.
This is exactly the sort of decision that I've come to expect from him over these past few years, and it's part of the reason that I was so to his re-election.
If anything, the president has shown himself to be a negotiator, and this latest move is further proof of that.
In fact, there is already mounting evidence that his is having its desired effect; whereas Republicans are bitterly divided over how to respond, House and Senate Democrats, for the most part, stand united with the professional left.
And so, to those of you who've been so quick to Obama's skills, I have just one thing to say: Get ready to eat some .

Donald Trump received something less than a hero's welcome when he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
At the WWE Hall of Fame Saturday night, Madison Square Garden flipped Donald the bird—in a big way. The booing began as soon as commentator Vince McMahon launched into the nicer-than-necessary induction. Trump was booed throughout the duration of his speech, forcing him to cut it short and, eventually, exit the building. But he wasn't leaving until the crowd met his son, who—yep—also got booed and his daughter who...well, didn't. Following the cheers for Ivanka, Trump exclaimed how happy he was that at least one member of the family was accepted by the MSG audience! That's enough, Donald.
Meanwhile...
Trump's youngest son, Barron, is growing accustomed to the finer things in life.
Melania Trump, model, businesswoman and wife of Donald Trump, doesn't cut corners when it comes to raising her son, Barron. When it comes to clothes, he dresses in suits like his dad. When it comes to skincare, he uses mom's caviar-enhanced skincare line.
You read that correctly. The 7-year-old Barron uses Melania's Caviar Complex C6 moisturizer every night after his bath.
"It smells very, very fresh," Melania, who launched the skincare line exclusively in Lord & Taylor this week, told ABC News. "I put it on him from head to toe. He likes it!"
And, in tangentially-related news...
Liz Cheney is reportedly thinking about going into the family business.
A source close to the politically active daughter of Vice President Dick Cheney tells The Daily Caller that she is still seriously considering running. [...]
Cheney, a lawyer who has served in various positions in government, has not commented publicly about whether she’s eying the seat. But her activities seem to signal that she could be interested in a run of some sort: She recently moved to Jackson Hole, Wyo., with her family. She has also been giving speeches at various events in the state.
Her father represented Wyoming in Congress from 1979 to 1989.
I believe the children are our future.
