It's not like progressives have been telling you for years and years that the GOP is THE party of the rich. That they would sell their own grandmother down the river for a buck. That they would abandon all "principals" in the name of The Almighty Dollar.
But nooooo! They kept supporting a party that championed something as egregious as "corporate welfare" and not expecting it to ever bite back, after all, they are mostly middle/working class folk themselves. Had they listened to us decades ago, they could have saved themselves a lot of trouble. Instead, the chickens have come home to roost!
Apparently, this whole nationwide "RFRA" backlash has opened the eyes of RWNJs to this reality (albeit, with no sense of irony). If you head over to a conservative news website today, you will see much handwringing about "big corporation's pro homofascist" stances. Why, this redstate post right here is a clear example of their fundamentalist paranoia, especially the comments. Phrases like "all they care about is their bottom line", "these corporations are greedy money grubbers" and even "big business is siding with the forces of Satan" can now be heard spouted from the mouths of "free market capitalist conservatives". Hey! I thought that profit margin was, like "the most important thing EVER!"™ Which is it?!
They're threatening to boycott: Walmart, Apple, Microsoft, Angie's List, Nike, NASCAR, Google, Mozilla, NCAA basketball, etc. At this rate, they're going to have to literally retreat back into the caves to avoid, in ANY way, supporting teh gayz. On second thought, I fully support this (good riddance)!
Honestly, I have thought for a while now that LGBT rights would be the issue to break the GOP in 2016, which is sad considering that there are arguably WAY more important issues that need addressing. The "super crazy religious right" wing of the GOP are reaping what they sowed by always kissing the asses of the rich, who are more libertarian in nature. The "Big money" establishment wing of the GOP is reaping what they sowed by supporting far right crazies and never denouncing their toxic rhetoric. I certainly hope some good can come from this broken GOP (for the middle class's sake).
In the meantime, this is all so hilarious, that I'm going to go ahead and do it:
I nee.... no, we need you!
