Sometimes I am disheartened when otherwise good and rational people pile on to make fun of other people’s sojourns through life and the medical crises which inherently evolve from being alive on this planet. I am no fan of RFK Jr as a candidate, but I don’t understand this need to ridicule him for what sounds like a plausible tale.
I don’t know what RFK Jr’s back story is, but having a parasitic infection in your brain can and does happen- The way he describes it sounds a lot like how I often describe my own travails. Something passed my blood/brain barrier and wreaked havoc on me. I am super lucky that a surgeon was able to remove it.
I like to think that this site is host to a loving, humanist, and caring group- but, I feel like there is an urge here to ridicule someone for their medical issues just because they disagree with their politics- It is beyond disheartening to see the recent cartoon: Parasitic worms by Nick Anderson get so many recs and so many uncaring and callous comments. To play off of someone’s personal medical plights, reflects poorly on the cartoonist and on this site’s sense of humanity.
