Here are the 10 reasons why Cenk Uygur, host of The Young Turks should get the 10 spot on MSNBC
- MSNBC could use a little diversity, Rachel got the ball rolling, now it's time to add somebody with a slightly darker skintone.
- They think Keith Olbermann's special comments generated a lot of buzz wait til they get a load of one of Cenk's desk pounding tirades.
- Cenk used to be a Republican so he knows how they think, giving him a unique perspective, Not too many commentators have been on both sides of the political scale.
- Cenk stands up to power, he's never afraid to voice his opinion even if it is against the conventional wisdom.
- The Young Turks have been dominating on YouTube, MSNBC would bring in a new/younger crowd, an important advertising demographic.
- The Young Turks have done hundreds of amazing interviews. MSNBC would be a great venue for such an interview based show.
- MSNBC could use a greater range of reporting, not just politics. The Young Turks discuss a wide range of topics on a daily basis, everything from politics to sports to pop culture. The public loves pop culture as we've seen with the success of Rachel Maddow's pop culture segment. The Young Turks would build on this success.
- Cenk's religious debates. This may be a little too controversal for the main stream media, but as Obama told us in his inaugural address america is a place of many different types of faith. The debates about religion that have taken place on TYT have sparked more thought for me than any other medium, there is a market for these debates.
- They make politics fun. One of the things I love about the Young Turks is their ability to not only speak seriously about Politics, but to also make it fun and therefore much more interesting. It's no secret that Politics can be boring at times, it's never a boring subject at www.theyoungturks.com
- The substantial following they have built online, between YouTube and members to their site, MSNBC would be crazy to turn away all those fans that would be there on day one.
What better time than now? What better place than here? I want my TYT on MSNBC!!!
