I live in AZ as you can tell by my lovely avatar and ambiguous name. I live in Tucson, on the border of the 7th & 8th district. (seriously I live smack dab in the middle of the border if I'm on my patio I'm in the 7th district, if I'm in my living room I'm in the 8th lol)
I see cookies on the SunTran all the time!
According to AZ Sos Ken Bennet:
Of the state's 3.1 million voters, 1,124,173 are Republicans, 974,892 are Democrats and 1,037,450 have either registered with independent parties or not designated a party preference.
The rule here is that you have to be aligned to a political party to participate in the AZ primary. Arizona's Presidential Primary is Feb. 28th. Today I've driven by a bunch of Ron Paul signs and all I have to say to my fellow Arizonans is...Good luck with that! We have a substantial Mormon population and a pretty large social conservative block. So I'm guessing that if the Santorum/Perry/Gingrich fight is over, AZ Repubs will vote for Romney.
However, I wonder why people don't just choose a party? You can't decide what your choice is for either Dem or Rep so what's the point? It's not like an Independent candidate is going to win the Presidency anytime soon and the way that I look at the electoral "rules" it seems nearly impossible.
So shoot. Anyone want to explain this to me?
