Now that the Church of the Blessed Craft Store, Hobby Lobby, has been ordained by the Supreme Court as a state sponsored religion with thousands of voluntary or involuntary members, shouldn’t the public have a clear idea of the full range of beliefs of the now government backed religious entity?
Since the court has annointed a super religious leader, with the right to impose his personal religious beliefs on otherwise free American citizens, shouldn’t we have a full disclosure about the Church into which we may involuntarily be enrolled?
Will anyone who makes a purchase in her sanctuary be eligible for a tax deduction for a charitable contribution? Shouldn’t we be able to see exactly where our contributions are being deployed in furtherance of the religion our Supreme Court has decided to sponsor?
How much does the head pastor make? What are its mission activities? How much goes to feeding the hungry? How much to healing the sick? How much to bring justice to the oppressed? How much to caring for the widow and the orphan?
Can nonbelievers be excommunicated, aka fired, for being gay? For being pregnant? For being Jewish? For being a single mother? For having an unapproved roommate? For advocating to improve working conditions or to form a union? For speaking out against the Dear Leader? For posting on Facebook or being a member of Daily Kos?
And most important, how do I go about getting my religious views declared by the Supreme Court as superior to all others or is that designation only open to the “right” kind of religion with the right kind of money?
