The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff is suggesting that it's time for military action in Syria.
The way I understand it is that we're backing the Israelis against Iran in Israel. In Iraq, we're on the side of the Iran-backed government against the invading Syrian rebels. In Syria, we're on the side of the rebels against Assad -- until now, when we're suddenly on the side of Assad against the rebels. The Syrian rebels, who we are alternatingly either for or against, are backing Hamas, which is attacking Israel, which is both desperate for Assad to fall and terrified of what might happen if he does.
Our regional foreign policy, backed by such a coherent approach, can only be helped by military strikes against the rebels in Syria. To help Assad. Whom we are trying to topple. Or maybe to help Iran and it's puppet government in Iraq. Or Israel? Anyway, it's all good.
I think that this will turn out pretty well.
