This election the GOP has spent a ton of time whining like 3 year old children. Admittedly, at times, the media has been tough on Trump. But the scrutiny has been well-deserved, whether it be examining his true business record and failures, his terrible treatment of women and other groups, his instability, his dangerous ideas and his crazy supporters.
What this complaining overlooks is the media largely created and propped up Trump from last fall all the way to the general election. It also overlooks how unfair the media has been to Democrats at times over the years, particularly the Clintons. Whether it be cheerleading the gulf war, lying about Obamacare or going along with a fake scandal like Benghazi, what the media really is biased towards is a story, the more scandalous the better, truth be damned.
For years MSNBC has provided some respite from this nonsense. Nowadays its not as often as it used to be, but Rachel Maddow and Chris Hayes still run solid shows. But today I reached my boiling point. Having to travel for work by car for several hours, I put MSNBC on Sirius to keep up with election news. And what do I hear? Every fifteen minutes, literally, they bring up Wikileaks. And EVERY SINGLE TIME when talking about it the host said “drip, drip, drip” before actually saying the word Wikileaks. Andrea Mitchell was particularly bad. She seems obsessed with working the phrase “drip, drip, drip” into every other paragraph.
And the amazing thing is when they talked about the details, they said 1,300 more alleged emails were released today. And what do they show, the host would inevitably ask? And whoever they were talking to each time would point out one or two documents the description of which seemed benign and standard inside a campaign type stuff. OUT OF THIRTEEN HUNDRED RELEASED TODAY! That number of emails and the most they could come up with was some mildly interesting (to political junkies only) inside baseball stuff?
AND YET EVERY TIME, EVERY SINGLE FUCKING TIME, it was “DRIP, DRIP, DRIP” From 9AM until 4PM or so...Drip, Drip, Drip. Well let me ask, drip, drip, drip what MSNBC? There is no there there.
If there is news, report it. Just because emails are being released doesn’t mean there is a scandal or anything noteworthy because the simple fact is after nineteen days there is nothing there. Report that.
In summary, EFFF YOU MSNBC.
